Affordable pilot training. Your journey starts here.
Whether you are training toward a possible career in aviation or looking to fly just for fun, a Recreational Pilot License (RPL) should be one of your first goals.
During the recreational pilot training course, you will learn the fundamentals of how to fly and safely land an aircraft through practical flying lessons and ground-based theory lessons, before flying solo and completing the RPL flight test.
A Recreational Pilot License (RPL) will allow you to carry up to three passengers and fly within 25 nautical miles of your departure airport, in any CASA registered aircraft, with a maximum take-off weight (MTOW) of 1,500kgs.
The flight training you have completed during this course will count towards further pilot license courses such as Private Pilot License or Commercial Pilot License. There is no need to start your training again.
Schedule a meeting with us to discuss your aviation goals and whether this is the best course for you.
Upon enrolment, you will receive a Training Starter Kit which contains all relevant course materials, access to shared resources, and details information on your course process. Your orientation will include an introduction to the airport, airspace, aircraft fleet, LTF processes and policies, and our facilities.
Theory sessions will cover aeronautical knowledge, aircraft general knowledge, flight rules, radio procedures, air law, basic meteorology and Moorabbin Airport procedures. The ground theory will be integrated into flight training. You will need to pass the RPL theory exam before conducting the RPL flight test.
The flight training you will undertake will be conducted in the Cessna 172, Diamond DA40 or Sling 2 LSA aircraft. Every new exercise is demonstrated by your experienced flight instructor, and you will improve your skills through practice.
When the instructor is confident in your abilities, you will be sent on your first solo flight. During your first solo, you will be in the aircraft on your own with your instructor watching from the ground. It’s an unforgettable experience and thrilling milestone for every pilot!
After ongoing instruction and practice, you will be ready to be put forward for your RPL flight test. In a flight test with a CASA approved Testing Officer, you will demonstrate all that you've learnt through your flight training.
Safe & Seamless Training.
