To fly as a Pilot In Command (PIC) under Instrument Flight Rules (IFR) or in anything other than Visual Flight Rules (VFR) conditions, you need to have a valid Instrument Proficiency Check (IPC). Moreover, to exercise the privileges of an instrument rating or Air Transport Pilot Licence (ATPL), pilots are required to pass an Instrument Proficiency Check (IPC) every 12 months. 1. Prerequisite
To complete an Instrument Proficiency Check, you must already hold the relevant Instrument Rating.

2. IFR Theory Revision
Ground theory training will include revising of privileges and limitations of the instrument rating, day and night operations, and take-off minima.

3. Simulation Training
Our state-of-the-art ALSIM AL42 simulator replicates the full cockpit environment of a Diamond DA42 aircraft, including all instruments and the G1000. The simulation training session will include unusual attitudes and at least 2 instrument approaches.

4. Revision Flight Training
During the revision flight, pilots needs activate the required IFR clearance with ATC, navigate en-route to a specified destination, and fly an instrument approach upon arrival. Pilots can expect to fly both a 2D and a 3D instrument approach to include circling or straight-in, normal or partial panel, and precision or non-precision.

The IPC Check Flight will cover all aspects of the refresher course, including various instrument approaches.
