Be ready for your IPC check.
To fly as a Pilot In Command (PIC) under Instrument Flight Rules (IFR) or in anything other than Visual Flight Rules (VFR) conditions, you need to have a valid Instrument Proficiency Check (IPC). Moreover, to exercise the privileges of an instrument rating or Air Transport Pilot Licence (ATPL), pilots are required to pass an Instrument Proficiency Check (IPC) every 12 months. Completing this Instrument Proficiency Check (IPC) Refresher Course facilitated by experienced IFR Flight Instructors is a great way to ensure that your knowledge and skills are at the level required to pass your Instrument Proficiency Check (IPC).
Flight training relevant to Instrument Proficiency Check (IPC) preparation includes holding, approaches, partial panels, manoeuvres, unusual attitudes, and instrument approaches. You should also ensure that you have current charts as well as the POH for the aircraft to be used and that you are familiar with its contents and the equipment in the aircraft. Our package includes both practical flight training in aircraft as well our state-of-the-art flight simulators, theory, and a free subscription to our online IPC Theory Refresher course. Packages are available for both single and multi-engine aircraft, with pay as you fly also an option. Schedule a meeting with one of our flight training specialists to discuss whether this is the right course for you.
To complete an Instrument Proficiency Check, you must already hold the relevant Instrument Rating.
Ground theory training will include revising of privileges and limitations of the instrument rating, day and night operations, and take-off minima.
Our state-of-the-art ALSIM AL42 simulator replicates the full cockpit environment of a Diamond DA42 aircraft, including all instruments and the G1000. The simulation training session will include unusual attitudes and at least 2 instrument approaches.
During the revision flight, pilots needs activate the required IFR clearance with ATC, navigate en-route to a specified destination, and fly an instrument approach upon arrival. Pilots can expect to fly both a 2D and a 3D instrument approach to include circling or straight-in, normal or partial panel, and precision or non-precision.
The IPC Check Flight will cover all aspects of the refresher course, including various instrument approaches.
